When Frida Kahlo wore red lipstick, it married the concepts of femininity and strength. Lynda Carter saved the world, often wearing a fabulous shade of red lipstick, and continues to wear the color when she isn't being Wonder Woman. She told W that her favorite lipstick is Chanel's Long Wearing Lipstick in #7501. Maria Montez was one of Old Hollywood's biggest Latina stars. Known as the Queen of Technicolor, she wowed on the screen and off, often in red lipstick. While we couldn't find a personal favorite red lipstick of Montez's, we did find a 1943 ad for Max Factor Tru-Color Lipstick in which she modeled the latest red lip hues. A great 1940s red lipstick dupe is Besame Cosmetics' Victory Red, which pays homage to 1941.
